Friday 8 April 2011

At the group meeting on monday, it was decided who will be making what to go in each room.

Each person was given 2 items to build/create,and we were put into pairs to create these items. I was allocated the windows with Jenny and the loveseat with Ryhan.

I have already done the primary research for the windows.

We will be making the windows to the design I have already done.

As Ryhan has researched and designed the loveseat we will be making the seat from her design.

Making of the windows

After we had made the small scale models it gave us a better idea of what worked in the rooms and what needed changing.

We decided that the Drawing room was too small for all the fruniture so we changed the measurements to 16" by 16".

We also changed the size of the study/death room, there was too much furniture in this room taking the concentration off Ivan's death on the sofa and the screen. So we made the study/death room longer and thinner. We also changed the bookcase so it was instepped into the wall. Door and window positions were changed aswell as some of the furniture.

Floor Plans

FIRST FLOOR PLAN DESIGNS:

We designed our first floor plan on what the book described and our opinions on what the rooms should look like.

But after we made a small scale 3D model of the rooms, it became apparent that not all the furniture fitted into the rooms, also that there was too much in the study/death room and that the shape of the room didnt enhance the story happening in that room.

After much discussion we decided on our final design.

FINAL FLOOR PLAN DESIGN:

AutoCad Curtains/Drapes

This is my design for the curtains/drapes in the drawing room.

I made the AutoCad design simple, to show the basic shape of the curtains. People in the group have looked at this design and have asked for a more elaborate dessign. AutoCad is a hard programme to use so the hand drawn designs for the curtains/drapes will show more detail.
